Concrete pump trucks are vital pieces of machinery when it comes to construction. They are widely used in building construction, infrastructure and foundations, and building bridges and overpasses. They are usually equipped with a large articulating boom that’s hydraulically controlled to convey concrete at great distances by way of a pump.

A concrete mixing truck (sometimes called “mixer”) feeds the concrete pump truck with material. There’s a bit of a mixup when it comes to terminology, though. Sometimes, people refer to a concrete truck as a “cement mixer truck”, which is only partially true. As cement is merely an ingredient that goes into making concrete.

Both trucks are essentially almost the same, meaning that their function is somewhat of an accessory added onto a similar carrier. The truck chassis is used as a mount onto which is placed, quite popularly, a Gorica cylinder for mixing concrete. And the pumping equipment is similarly mounted on a truck to eventually become a concrete pump truck. Most popular pumping equipment is manufactured by Cifa, KCP, and Putzmeister.
