The GCC desert floor behaves differently when saturated. What was once a stable, hard-packed surface...
The Sharjah racing season opened with energy and anticipation as the racecourse welcomed spectators, stables, and riders for the first meeting of the 2025–2026 Purebred Arabian calendar. On 16 November 2025, the historic venue delivered an afternoon that blended competition, heritage, and community spirit—an atmosphere that resonated strongly with Al Marwan Machinery, a company known not only for its role in major national projects but also for its extensive lineup of construction equipment for sale and award-winning rental fleet across the GCC.
This season opener marked more than the start of a sporting calendar. It reflected the UAE’s commitment to preserving traditions while championing the progress that shapes the nation’s infrastructure and development—values closely aligned with Al Marwan’s work throughout the region.
Sharjah Racecourse plays an essential role in the UAE’s broader racing agenda. This season includes six race meetings extending into January 2026, forming part of the nationwide calendar of 63 events hosted across five major racecourses. Widely known for its technical dirt track, Sharjah creates an environment where strategy, timing, and stamina have equal influence.
The opening featured six Purebred Arabian races, each crafted to challenge mid-range and endurance runners. The balanced structure, competitive fields, and strong prize offerings emphasized the racecourse’s dedication to both heritage and athletic excellence.
Three Races Presented by Al Marwan
As part of its ongoing contribution to community-focused initiatives, Al Marwan Machinery proudly sponsored three key races on the program:
Each race offered a prize of AED 40,000, attracting competitive entries from stables across the UAE. The varying distances required different strengths—mid-distance control for the 1700-meter runs and deeper endurance for the 2000-meter challenge. What unfolded was a standout series of victories that underscored the competitive spirit of the season opener.
Makin Claims the First Victory – 1700m
The winning streak began with Makin, owned by Al Asaayel Stables, who delivered a confident performance marked by steady pacing and a decisive finish. The control displayed throughout the mid-distance track made this opening win a highlight of the afternoon.
Safeer Secures the Handicap race – 1700m
Momentum carried into the fourth race, where Safeer, owned by Yas Racing, navigated shifting handicap conditions with precision. A strong closing run secured the horse’s victory and highlighted the strategic skill embedded in Purebred Arabian racing.
Idris Des Arnets Dominates the Longest Run – 2000m
The third consecutive win came in the 2000-meter challenge, where Idris Des Arnets, owned by Mrs. Faten Ahmad Al Manasrah, powered forward with a commanding late surge. The result sealed a remarkable trio of victories under the Al Marwan banner.
Sharjah Racecourse has long served as a cultural anchor for the UAE’s equestrian community. Operated by the Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club—founded in 1982—the venue features one of the region’s largest indoor arenas and a specialized training environment for Purebred Arabian horses.
With strong attendance and competitive entries, the season is poised for exceptional performances in the weeks ahead. Trainers and stables are entering the year with ambitious plans, and early outcomes suggest closely matched contests across every category.
For Al Marwan, this celebration of athletic excellence aligns with the company’s own values—precision, dedication, and progress. Whether through supporting national sporting events or powering major infrastructure projects, the company remains committed to elevating the communities it serves.

Beyond the racetrack, Al Marwan Machinery plays a vital role in shaping the UAE’s construction and development landscape. Known for one of the region’s largest rental fleets and an extensive inventory of construction equipment for sale, the company supports industries ranging from infrastructure and civil works to logistics and event construction.
