Working at height is no longer just about reaching higher. For contractors, rental companies, facility managers, and industrial teams, the real challenge is reaching difficult areas safely, efficiently, and with fewer machine movements on site.
That is exactly where articulated boom lifts continue to prove their value. Unlike straight telescopic lifts, articulated boom lifts are designed to move up, over, and around obstacles, making them ideal for construction sites, industrial plants, airports, warehouses, ports, infrastructure works, and maintenance projects.
Sinoboom has now strengthened this category with the launch of its upgraded AB18J Plus and AB18EJ Plus boom lifts. Officially announced on April 23, 2026, the new models are upgraded versions of the popular AB18J boom lift and AB18EJ boom lift, offering improved performance, greater flexibility, and higher value for rental fleets and end users across Europe, North America, Australasia, and other markets.
For customers in the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, this launch is also important because Al Marwan Machinery is the official dealer of Sinoboom aerial work platforms, offering access to Sinoboom boom lifts, scissor lifts, vertical mast lifts, spider manlifts, and telehandlers across the region.
The upgraded AB18J Plus and AB18EJ Plus sit in the 60-foot articulated boom lift category, a popular height range for contractors who need a balance between reach, flexibility, transportability, and site performance.
Both models now offer a maximum platform height of 18.58 meters and a maximum working height of 20.58 meters, giving operators the access they need for façade works, MEP installation, steel structure maintenance, warehouse projects, industrial inspections, signage, lighting, and facility repair.
The new models also bring a generous dual-load capacity of 250 kg / 340 kg, allowing teams to carry workers, tools, and materials more efficiently. Sinoboom lists the platform capacity as 340 kg restricted and 250 kg unrestricted, helping operators choose the right working mode depending on the task and outreach needed.
For contractors comparing a boom lift for rent or a boom lift for sale, this matters. More platform capacity means fewer trips, better productivity, and smoother progress on jobs that require tools, fittings, panels, safety gear, or installation materials at height.

One of the standout improvements in the AB18J Plus and AB18EJ Plus is the expanded working envelope.
According to Sinoboom, both the diesel and electric options now provide a large working range, with horizontal reach of 12 meters / 10.7 meters and an up-and-over clearance of 7.98 meters. The machines also feature 360° continuous rotation, which allows operators to reposition the platform around the work area without constantly moving the base machine.
This is especially useful on congested jobsites where equipment, scaffolding, structures, stored materials, and access restrictions can make movement difficult. With an articulated boom lift, operators can reach over barriers, around corners, and into elevated work zones with greater control.
In real project conditions, this can save time. Instead of repositioning the manlift several times, the operator can use the boom articulation and continuous rotation to reach multiple work points from one setup position.

The upgraded range includes both engine-powered and electric options.
The AB18J Plus is the diesel-powered version, designed for outdoor construction sites, infrastructure work, industrial zones, and rougher terrain applications. It offers strong gradeability, robust mobility, and the power needed for demanding outdoor use.
The AB18EJ Plus, on the other hand, is the electric model. Sinoboom has upgraded its battery to a 500Ah model, improving running time. The company also offers an optional range extender for customers who need longer working time in specific applications.
This gives fleet owners and contractors more flexibility. For example, an electric Sinoboom manlift can be a smart choice for indoor maintenance, warehouses, airports, malls, factories, and areas where reduced noise and zero local emissions are important. A diesel boom lift remains the practical choice for outdoor sites where terrain, distance, and heavy-duty operation are the priority.

A boom lift not only needs to reach high; it also needs to remain stable and mobile in real site conditions.
The AB18J Plus includes 40% gradeability, a maximum allowable tilt angle of 5°, full-time oscillation, four-wheel braking, tilt protection, proportional controls, and a secondary guarding device among its listed features.
Sinoboom also notes that the upgraded models include full-time active oscillation in both stowed and lifting modes, 40% gradeability, and a 5° maximum working angle. An optional 4WD x 4WS configuration is available for stronger off-road performance.
For the GCC market, these features are important. Construction and industrial projects in the region often involve unfinished ground, compacted sand, gravel, ramps, and tight site layouts. A stable, maneuverable manlift helps improve safety and productivity when working at height.
The upgraded Sinoboom AB18J Plus and AB18EJ Plus can support a wide range of applications, including:
Their articulated design makes them especially useful when workers need to reach difficult elevated areas without setting up scaffolding or moving the machine repeatedly.
As Sinoboom continues to expand its aerial access range, Al Marwan Machinery plays an important role in bringing these solutions closer to contractors in the Middle East.
Al Marwan Heavy Machinery is the official dealer of Sinoboom aerial work platforms in the UAE, Oman, and KSA, offering telescopic boom lifts, articulating boom lifts, scissor lifts, spider manlifts, vertical mast lifts, and telehandlers.
This means customers looking for a Sinoboom manlift, manlift for rent, boom lift for rent, or boom lift for sale can access authorized dealer support, product guidance, after-sales service, and spare parts availability through Al Marwan Machinery.
For contractors, buying or renting from an authorized distributor is not just about getting the machine. It is about ensuring the equipment is suitable for the job, supported by trained teams, and backed by reliable service throughout its working life.
